I found a stray kitten and her mommy i don't know what to do?

I have given the mommy some dog food cause we don't have any cat food and she has eatin all of that and drank some water the kitten has nursed some and the kitten also has her eyes open wich is good! i gave them a litter box but im not sure if they'll use it but now i think i have done everything that i know how cause im only 13 but if someone could give me more tips that would be GREAT!
Answers:
give the kitten some warm milk and give the mom cat caned food or tuna
keep them!!! do your parents know about this??? do they support you, also put an add in the paper.
Awww! Aren't you sweet?? Can your folks take you to the store so you can buy a little bit of cat food? If you don't want to keep the cats, maybe you can take care of them until you can get them to a shelter, or until you can find homes for them.

By the way, sounds like you're doing everything you can.

Sandy
Well take it to the vet to get it a check up then name them
Give them some milk and towels. Give it some tuna. take some yarn balls and entertain them.
First of all just get them some kitten food! The mommy cat will get extra vitamins and nutrients to feed the baby! Thats a good start.
A nursing mother wil need the proper food. Buy her some Purina Kitten Chow. It will supply her with more vitamins and so forth than the chow for adult cats. You might try to get the kitten to eat as well.
As far as the litter box goes if you sit the mother in a clean litter box, she'll know what to do with it.
Good for you!!!!!!!!!...
it depends if you want to keep them or not, let them rest for a few days. maybe call the animal shelter.
also put some signs around, it is possible it belongs to someone and she ran off when looking for somewhere to give birth, funny there is only 1 kitten, have a look/listen around where you found her, there maybe some more hungry little fluffballs around
You are very sweet. Sounds like you are doing a great job! I'm sure that momma and baby will make great pets. You could give mom a can of tuna just as an extra treat and talk to you parents about a vet visit. Good Luck
take them to the vet to help them. if it has no coller put up posters if nowone can prove it is theirs keep it and help the cats they would LOVE that to have food again and fresh water
ps:buy cat food
Make sure you pick up some good cat food for the mother. If the kitten is still nursing then she will be fine until she is ready for kitten food. You should take them to the vet to get checked out, make sure there aren't any other problems, and make sure they are both vaccinated. The mother may not necessarily be a stray, have the vet check for a microchip, so if she isn't really a stray she can be returned to her owner.
if you don't want to keep the take them to the humane Socie but if you do want to keep them get some cat food and a dishes for food and water and show the where the liter box is and they will be fine. :) :)
Make sure you allow the mommy to go outside as she may need to go get the other kittens, they are helpless, without their mother they will die!

Also, they probably belong one of you neighbours, you should try to find out who has lost a cat and return them, don't lock mommy indoors, that is stealing.
I think you are doing a great job! I agree with the answers about giving the mother cat food. Place the litter box within sight of the kitten so the mother will feel more secure about leaving her kitten for a few minutes. I understand you want to keep them but calling the SPCA might give you some more ideas of what to do. Believe me, they would rather you have them instead of them. Have fun!
Get your mommy cat special cat milk so it can nurse its child. Put blankets under where the mother nurses its child so it can get comfortable. Your mommy cat might not want to use her litter box at first because its used to using the bathroom outside. Let it get used to you and your house. Your kitten is at least 2 weeks old because kittens open there eyes when there 2 weeks old. At 6 weeks old they are mature enough to be without there mommy. Give your cat a bath(if it cooperates with you) Don't forget to give your mommy cat its shots! You don't know if it has a diesease since it's a stray cat and also take it to the vet regularly. Good luck on your mommy cat and kitten!
i think you should take them to the vets, to get them checked over, they may not be any visable paracites or illnesses but there are lots of things you can catch from stray animals, they may need a vacination of somesort, especially if you are concidering keeping them.other then that just keep an eye on them from a distance and do not overcrowd them or smother them to much as they are not use to this as they were strays.Slowly introduce yourself to them and make them feel comfortable, maybe make a bed for them under your bed were they would feel safe. As for the litter tray i do not think that the mommy cat would come to terms with this very well as living outside all her life but the kitten, because still young, will find it easier to learn. hope you can use this to help you out.
i don't think u should keep them because they might mean the world to someone just think what if u lost your cat and its mother would you want someone else to keep them and not take them to an shelter or something u should turn them in to an local shelter or vet and wait 30 day for someone to clam them and if they don't you should just keep them
ask your parents to get cat food because dog foods not good for her, it lacks nutrition. but other wise your doing great!
take them to the vets and they will treat them properly, you've done a great job! or if you want to keep them like i would then take them to the vet for a checkup
put up some posters..
I doubt if they belong to anybody, people dump animals all the time rather than take them to the animal shelter. But just in case they do belong to someone who is looking for them, put up posters in your neighborhood. However if this Mama cat and her baby are out loose their previous owner is not taking very good care of them. The fact that the mother cat ate all the dog food you gave her is proof nobody is feeding her and left her to fend for herself and baby. I think you are doing a great job just taking these cats and trying to do the right thing. Ask your parents to take you to the store for some good cat %26 kitten food if you haven't already. Will they let you keep them? You will have to eventually take them in for shots (asap) and then have the cat spayed. The rest of the answers you got here say the rest, just don't listen to the ones that tell you to take them to a shelter and give them up! Unless your parents won't let you keep them. But that should be the last resort. Try finding them a good home first. Or call an animal rescue group. You can find one by searching the internet for your city.
Good Luck
Kenekee..
you are so smart
how wonderful

Im sure the cats would thakyou if they could

You probably saved their lives

Now ideally you should get them to a vet
but make sure theres water around

if the mom is feeding then she'll need more food
and a warm safe place to rest away from the dog and any disturbances

Ok hon

check on your mom or dad to ensure they know what you did an dhow kind hearted you ve been
they need a scratching post. otherwise they will scratch your furniture appart. also have a few cat play things. kittens are VERY playfull. they will need taking to the vet to get checkups and shots. cat food. love. places for them to sleep
give them only cat food i guess the dog food was okay for the moment, but shes a cat thats nursing so she needs all the nurishment she can get to nurse her baby. so feed her water and cat food, dont give them milk, milk is bad for a cats digestive system. kinda of like fish. and tell ur parents so that if they find them one day and decide to throw them one the street u will have ample time to give them away or do something like a no kill shelter! good luck to ya
well you should take them to the vet still because they could have mights or something or maybe even heart worms which if they do have heart worms they could die if they dont get treated in time or properly. i watch animal planet alllll the time .so i no my animals.you also should put fliers up around the naberhood because someone could own them and love them alot plus if they have the other kitten they will need the mother. if someone claims them maybe they will give you one of the kittens!
Thats sweet but cats can eat dog food? thats weird lol
but ask your parents if you can keep the kittens
this question was posted a week ago so I'm not sure if you still have the mom cat on dog food if you do you need to do get some replacement milk to feed to the kitten, moms milk is very important while they are nursing and if your feeding them something other than normal cat food the kitten may not get all the nutrients it needs from moms milk. or if mom for some reason stops nursing just go get a little syringe and some replacement milk ( can get if from any wal-mart, K-mart stores like that) and feed it to the kitten just to make sure its getting what it needs! other than that just keep an eye out for any odd changes in the kittens behavior or moms if anything arises call the vet! good luck and have fun! :)
Please buy cat food. In cat manuals, it says not to give them dog food. It's fine if you have not been doing it for a while, but just please try to give them cat food. Keep them because of you let them go, they could get run over by a car, or something bad like that could happen. Also, please do not sell them to somebody. You can't sell them because you do not know their original birthdate and I think you might need all their papers. Just please keep them in the house with you until the kitten is old enough to go outside with her mother. Thank you, good luck, and please follow my directions.
