I Found A Stray Cat?

I just gave a stray cat a bath, and put a collar on her. She was purring during bath time, but now is meowing profusely! What is going on??
Answers:
She may be in heat. Take her to a Vet, see if she has a clean bill of heath, and maybe get the cat check for a microchip. Good luck with the new kitty! ;)
Maybe you should take it to the vetenarian...feed the cat some milk or tuna if u dont have cat food yet... and dont forget to put up flyers saying cat found if no ones report it missing you could keep the cat...or give it away
Maybe she's hungry. If you can't go to the store, see if you have tunafish or something.
she might be allergic to the soap u bathed her with!! good luck:)
Maybe she wants to go back outside...my cat cries if you don't let him back out after he's done doing whatever he want to do inside. Are you sure she is a stray? Maybe she just wants to be pet.
My cat would have eaten your arm if you tried to give him a bath=) But i guess to each his own...my cat likes to have his tail pulled!

The first answer suggests giving the cat milk...NEVER do that, cats don't handle lactose very well and it will give her diarrhea...and I know you don't want that!
She misses her independence. She doesn't need you now that she's fed and happy. She wants to run with the boys. A lot like some of my old girlfriends. Excuse me while I cry for an hour.
maybe the cat liked the attention of the bath, are you petting and playing with him?
Or did you give him dinner? and a drink?
Or has he got a place to go potty?
you should get him some things to play with and food and a potty; show him where everything is and keep petting him
You shouldn't really take a stray cat in your house. You gotta take it's shots 1st. I think your new cat has raibies may be. Some cats act really strange when they have raibies but if i doesn't have raibies, then just let it get used to you. Ask a vet about it. Good luck on your cat!
it probably has had a collar on before and thinks it to be a sign of danger
put up some lost posters
Please make sure that you can put two fingers under the collar. It may be too tight. Is she itching and scratching? She could have a problem with the soap that you used. If not, is she hungry? Does she want love? What else is she doing, other than meowing? Help us help you.
She's like most likely definantly probably hungry. Just I wouldn't be putting a collar on a stray cat. Some cats will cut up their necks trying to get them off if their not used to them. Also, there is probably a large chance it isn't stray. Our cat dosn't have a collar and is outside all the time. Although, there is a orange stray in my town who almost everyone has taken in and named at one time or another.
Get the collar off. It may be toxic to her. Some cats are allergic to the toxins in the collars. Or it could be the soap you bathed her with. Did you use dishwashing detergent? (A no-no)

If I were you, I would get her to a vet. She needs to be seen anyway since she has been a stray. And you don't know if her teeth have an abcess or some other problem. So get her to the vet - and please don't wait.

And kudos to you for your kindness in rescuing a stray cat!
mayb the bath u gave her irritated her skin, she could have a skin rash or something. i'd try checking it out w/ a vet and i wouldn't give her any more baths unless a vet instructed u 2 use a certain shampoo.
its really happy..
