How do you stop cats messing in the garden?

Answers:
There are 2 ways only. Forget Lemon/Orange/Sprays as they dont work for more than a few hours (they fade).

1. Buy a ultrasonic emitter which the cats hate

2. Get a cat of your own
squirt lemon juice around your garden or chopped up lemon they cant stand the smell good luck xx
there is a spray you can buy at pet shops I think it is called get off! Or something.
Put down some orange peel, they hate it.
You don't, just get out your bucket and spade every so often.
You'll have trouble doing that...
You carn't really. Alot of these sprays and gadgets to keep them off don't really work. The best thing to do is fill your garden up with many shrubs, plants etc etc and don't leave any space of dirt what so ever, then they won't have anywhere to dig to do their duty will they!
a few clear 2 litre bottles filled wiv water laid down in the garden keeps the majority of em away . they cant work out the deformed reflection in the bottle so they tend to go back the way they come from which shud keep em from your garden
Orange peel works too. Or any kind of powerful gun. Don't even bother using a catapult, it will serve only as a short-term time-wasting pursuit. A good quality .22 rifle or high velocity air gun is what you are wanting here. These little pests kill birds for fun due to their inability to rid themselves of an inner instinct. I have seen countless blue-**** and sparrows killed in my garden over the years and I take no cat prisoners now after getting a bird-friendly .22 high velocity SMK XS78 CO2 Air Rifle. Cat 'owners' get the message and stop replacing these costly pests after a while.
get a cat, that'll stop your neighbours cats from crappin in your garden. and your cat will jus crap in someone elses garden - solved. other than that, there is somethin called 'get off my garden' available from petshops, or an ornamental cat sometimes helps. dont know where you get those from tho sorry good luck, and dont do any gardenin without your marrigolds on!! ; ) yuk.
truth is- lve tried Everything- sprays, empty bottles, mirrors- but they don't fool a cat for long -getting a cat yourself- only makes you more tolerant- truth is-- a cat will go where it wants to do, and scent Mark its territory, and other cats will come and use it as a toilet, to mask the first scent, it goes round and round- apart from putting a lot of dense cover plants in- their is no way of stopping it- sorry. Cats are not purrrrrfect. lol, had to throw that one in.
You can use moth balls, my mom has a bunch of cats, and a bunch of plants and she puts out moth balls to keep them away. I don't know why it works, it just does.
lay some half filled 500ml coke bottles around they dont like them, it worked for me
My grandad was keen gardener and had this problem several years ago, he heard somewhere that you sprinkle pepper on your garden, so he did it and he hasn't had the problem since, hope this helps
You can't. If cats are treated like wild animals and allowed to wander about outdoors...you have to expect this to happen. I mean they need to relieve themselves somehow.
Our two tabby cats won't do there poo in the garden at all, they have a tray which I clean every day, they come in to spend a penny and go out again, there so clean.
I've used dried blood and it works fairly well (well, with my cat and my neighbors' cats anyway). Just has to be reapplied after every rain and watering. You should be able to find it in at your local garden center or nursery- most of what you'll find is dried, ground cattle/ox blood (a by-product of the beef processing industry) . And it also serves as a nitrogen-rich fertilizer for your garden!
Hey, don't shoot them, they're someones pet (not that I think you would I'm just saying how ridiculously stupid people are who think its fun to hurt and kill animals). There's this really good product (cant rememer the name tho sorry) which contains lion poo or at least its scent and this is enough to keep the cats off as they think there is a larger predator wandering around! We have a neighbour who breeds cats so we have a high powered water pistol, the cats hate being taken by a surprise soaking!!
If you have a zoo near you, ask them if you can get lions or tigers dung!
Because the cats can smell it and then they wont go near it.
The reason why I know that is because I saw it on a gardening programme.
