How long does it take for a cat to stop producting milk, after separated from baby kittens?

The kittens are over 6 weeks old, eating kitten food, but still depending on 'mama'. I put the kittens nextdoor, in my daughter's house, to see how the separation goes - before giving any kitties away. This way, if it is too difficult on mama or babies, I can reunite them - though I hope that won't be necessary. Also, I want to keep one of the kittens after fully weaned--would having her back make mama produce milk again? Thank you for your answers.
Answers:
if the kittens are full weaned then keeping one of the kittens shouldnt make the momma produce milk.
yes having her produce milk again, if not the milk will just dry up.so if her babies want milk make shure the mom gets lost of nutrition.and shell have milk :)
my cat had a baby and i gave it away to a friend she had the kitten for one year and had to give it back and when the now 1 year old at came home the mama cat nursed her again and started producing milk it was very odd
it really dedpends but after they are completly weaned no she won't produce milk cause she knows the kitten does not need it. also adult can prduce milk without even being pregnant if you bring new borns to her.
