How many kittens is normal in a first litter, how can i tell if mom is done delivering kittens?

Answers:
cats have odd number in litter 3,5,7 ect...
she is done when they stop coming out.
i have seen cats usually deliver 3 to 5 kittens. the placenta will also come out after birth
There is not such thing as a *normal* first litter. Having bred cats for almost 20 years I have had litters of one and litters of eight. Even the same cat birthing a second time is usually different from that cat's first time.

Cats can begin birthing and have them quickly I have had 4 kittens within one hour and I have had litters where three kittens were born and then one was born 24 hours later.

Plenty of variables for sure

Good luck!
when shes done laboring, she wont be panting or pushing anymore. if it seems like shes still in labor but no more kittens are coming out, take her to the emergency vet ASAP. one could be stuck and it will kill mom and any others left in there.
ive seen first litters with only 1 kitten and ive seen them with 6.
good luck!! congratulations!!
