i have a cat that just underwent surgery for urinary crystals. he now has to eat a special wet cat food.he was accustomed to eating dry food. it seems that he doesnt eat any of the wet food. i was wondering if it might be spoiled. how long does this normally take.

Purchase small cans. I wouldn't trust an open can of food, past the day it was opened.
If the can was opened for a while then he is not eating it because it's gone bad, if you live in a very hot place an opened can can go bad faster than inmediately!, it's disgusting!.
If it was unopened and it's been only a few hours from surgery then your little buddy is feeling awful and he doesn't want to eat. Give him time. Remember a hungry cat will eat ANYTHING. Just make sure he has fresh water available 24/7 and make sure he is drinking it.
my cats eat 1 tin between 4 of them..
otherwise when i only had 1 cat, i kept the food tin in the fridge covered for over night, cause by the next day my cat would have the rest..
other wise i wouldnt keep it if it was over 2 nights worth..
