How do you take care of a kitten?

I have this kitten whose mom(who is another one of my cats) abondoned him.We thought we could get another one of out cats to be his surrogate mom, but she's not making milk anymore. I'd like some advice so I can give this kitten the best chance of survival, but it needs to be cheap. My folks don't plan on spending too much money for just one kitten.

Found some good resources for you:

wind up its tail
you can use can milk for a lil while but i wouldnt recommend if it is really young baby formula works
The best advice I can give you is to call your local animal shelter and ask them to take the kitten. These people are experienced in caring for abandoned kittens and your kitten would have a much greater chance at surviving. I spent a few years as a foster parent for orphaned kittens for my local shelter and it's very tough to keep the little ones thriving under the best of circumstances. Good Luck!
First of all I want to congratulate you on wanting to help the little guy. I have found that instead of buying KMR which CAN be expensive I go to the local health food store and buy some goats milk or Walmart has some cheap kitten milk too. They also have bottles there too if it is too young to sip milk out of a bowl. If you cannot afford any of this please call the local vets or animal shelter as they have people on hand to bottle feed kittens. Also if it is over 3 weeks you can give it some meat baby food. If you have any questions I am willing to help just email me with the word kitten in the subject line. I know its a hard but very rewarding experience since I have been doing this for our local no-kill cat shelter for about 10 years.
