How long do kittens need to be with their mother?

My cat just had kittens today, how long do they need before I can sell them?
Answers:
At four weeks we start weining, at six weeks we get them first shots and deworming, at 8 weeks we get them altered and microchipped and then we adopt them out for $80.00.

Take them to a rescue.
In a few weeks, you will see that the mother is trying to bring them food to eat either out of her dish or by hunting if an outside cat. If the kitten drinks milk out of a saucer...you can check this by giving it milk in a few weeks and just lightly touching its nose to the milk so it can lick at it and realize what it is, then they are about ready.
Kittens need to be with their mother for AT LEAST 6 weeks. It is prefered that they stay with their mother until 8 weeks or longer. Most pet shops etc. won't sell puppies or kittens before 8 weeks of age.

They don't only nurse from their mothers, they also learn a lot from them. How to clean themselves, use a litter box, eat, drink from a bowl etc. Separating them from their mother any earlier than 8 weeks is not kind.

Kittens should not be fed any people food or drink other than water. Kitten food or kitten formula is OK. Most kittens get diaria from cows milk and therefore can be dehidrated and die.

Keri
they shouldnt leave their mother until they are 8 weeks old.
.
6 weeks, and you really shouldn't give kittens milk that we drink, it will give the really bad gas and diarhea.
Six Weeks
need to stay with mother and feed from her till approx 5 weeks you can start weaning them at approx four weeks with mushed up kitten food with water and then wean them slowly over 2-3 weeks so need to be about eight weeks before you send them to new homes
responsible adopters wnt touch them before 8 weeksQ Did you say sale ?

LOL I cant give then away
most people say 6, but 8 is better, that way they learn everything they need to know from their mom and can leave..they will b clingy of course when they leave
Cats are ready to go to new homes at about 12 weeks old (the recommended minimum age by F茅d茅ration Internationale F茅line), or when they are ready to leave their mother.
8-10 weeks
