How old should kittens be before they leave their mother?

How old should kittens be before they leave their mother?
Answers:
I thought it was 8 weeks but my pet health book says 12 weeks before you rehome them. x
4-6 WEEKS OR WHEN THEY ARE ABLE TO EAT KITTEN FOOD
Around six weeks, once they have started on kitten food and are litter trained.
used to breed cats and we always used a minimum of 6 weeks, assuming they are eating on their own.
Well about... 2-3 weeks. You should feed it from a bottle until 5-6 weeks. Then feed it wet canned food until your sure it can eat dry.
All I have to say is it is your responsibility to find these babies good homes. If you drop them off, irresponsibly, at the Humane Society, you may as well throw them off a bridge --many kittens are still put to sleep there. Are you going to finally spay your cat, or at least keep her inside when she is in heat?///////
